Why nursing, why now?
For more than a decade, my career has been rooted in one purpose: caring for people during some of the most vulnerable and uncertain moments of their lives. Whether reassuring passengers through turbulence at 35,000 feet or guiding families through one of the largest financial decisions they will ever make, I have learned that people remember how you make them feel when they need reassurance most.
As a Delta flight attendant since 2015, I have learned to remain calm under pressure, respond confidently in emergencies, and care for individuals from countless cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. Every flight has reinforced the importance of empathy, communication, and earning trust in moments of uncertainty. As a luxury real estate advisor, I have strengthened my ability to listen with intention, advocate for others, and guide people through emotionally significant decisions with compassion and integrity. I aspire to become a nurse who delivers equitable, patient-centered care while advocating for those navigating their most vulnerable moments.
Emory University is where I believe I can transform that purpose into lasting impact. Its commitment to leadership, innovation, research, and health equity reflects the kind of nurse I aspire to become. I hope to begin my journey at Emory by earning my BSN, serve as a flight nurse while developing advanced critical care expertise, and ultimately return to my alma mater to complete Emory's nationally recognized CRNA program. Each step will prepare me to become the compassionate clinician and bold, visionary leader I am called to be.
